Thus far I've seen more shows at the Grand Theater, but it's 2 to 1 ;)

Of current seito, I'm very fond of Ayana Oto, Aoki Izumi, Yumeno Seika, Yuzuka Rei, Daigo Seshiru, Kotobuki Tsukasa, Ranju Tomu and Yuzuki Reon.

Please tell us the musumeyaku you prefer. More than one is okay.
Right now the main ones Yumesaki Nene, Aono Yuki, Asaki Yumemi and Itsumine Aki. As I commented in a recent discussion - it's hard to notice good musumeyaku when you're not in Japan, because they don't get DVD camera time.

I've yet to encounter something like this, probably because I make extensive research before investing in something.

Yumiko and Mizu. I can't wait for their further careers! Kacha, too, with her lead role.

Ayana Oto, definitely :) I generally love distinguished upperclassmen, there should be more of them!

Kotobuki Tsukasa and Ema Naoki, they both have way too much fun :) I'm also very fond of Nishiki Ai.

Strong point is probably analysis. Weak point - definitely locationa nd lack of Japanese ability. I can read kana, but not kanji. I get by with Google Translate.

That has to be meeting Kacha and talking to her.

I don't like suit-and-fedora shows, at all.

Wouldn't say no to Tales of Hoffmann in a few years :) I love the music in it.

They're all special crack. I think they're best done from scratch each time.

Please try and analyze the kind of seito you're inclined to become a fan of.
Definitely atypical seito - I don't fall for the handsome-noble-leader type at all. I like them androgynous too, not the 100% male aspect. Singing before dancing, though dancing is important, and emotive acting most of all. And I tend to fall for the ones who look good in skirt roles.

Nope. Top star or otokoyaku top star.
23 轟悠さんについて何かコメントを。
Some comments on Todoroki Yuu.
She seems to be transitioning to nihonmono specialist, finally, which suits her. I liked her best before her top star days, but there's still a magnetism to her, and that iron strength of will. You can't look away.
24 路線男役の条件って何でしょうね？
What do you think are requirements for a star-tracked otokoyaku?
Charisma, lots of it. And ability to play politics.
25 路線娘役の条件って何でしょうね？
What do you think are requirements for a star-tracked musumeyaku?
The ability to hold her own, I think - for all that they frame the otokoyaku, a top musumeyaku has to perform with other troupe members as well as the top star, so she has to be strong. That's the only way it really works. Mind you, on the career level hitching your wagon to a good otokoyaku may help.

What do you think of Yuzuki Reon?
She dazzles :) Her voice can blow the roof off, and despite that she's a dancer first and foremost. Long career, please!

What do you think of the Yuu-Ayane combination?
They work together perfectly, fitting like two pieces of a puzzle. Ayane's a strong one, and that lets Yuu-kun goof around the way she loves to, because she knows Ayane'll catch her. I do wonder how Yuu will work after Ayane leaves.

Well then, what about the Chie-Nene combination?
Two very strong personalities working together very well :) And don't tell me they didn't pick them by voice, because whoa, pipes. One of the best recent casting decisions, IMHO.

Ichiro, again. Wouldn't say no to Komu, Saeko or Touko, either.

I don't want to jinx it! I guess among others, I've been wondering about Suzumi Shio, the way the top and nibante are older than her...

Some comments on Ayabuki Mao.
I think she honestly didn't want to be top star. I never got that spark from her, that drive. She was happy the way she was, and now I think Mizu kicked her out one show early so that she can get a sayonara concert and all the trimmings.
I fully expect a rock duet the moment they retire.

She feels on the brink of something, to me. With the upcoming dinner show, I think something will happen soon.

Some comments on Aoki Izumi.
Morie is one of the current seito who touch me the most. For all that Hiromi touches me on a more visceral level, Morie's the one I would probably support if I had the opportunity. I need the Yukariko DVD, because it gives her a star turn. And I was on tenterhooks the day of Scarlet Pimpernel shugobi. Right now I'm hoping for a transfer to give her room to spread her wings in another troupe, maybe. I'd love to see her in Snow as Kimu's nibante.

Please tell us about a seito you think should be used more, but gets no recognition.
This question has Hiromi written all over. She's a brilliant character actress, but it's used so rarely. I hope that with the mass exodus of older seito from Snow, she can get more distinguished upperclassman roles. I'd love for her to be the Nishiki Ai of Yukigumi.

If I said "someone treasured by the company", whom would you associate that with?
Asumi Rio. Who, to her credit, is a very bright star indeed.

Whom do you consider the best etoile?
...I tend to drift off and watch the underclassmen bowing?

"She can't sing", "she can't dance", "she can't act", which do you consider the biggest handicap?
Definitely "she can't act." The others can be worked around.

Some comments on Ranju Tomu.
She has a pure intensity of acting and singing that seizes your attention. She's what I think of as the "pure" otokoyaku (as opposed to quirky), handsome, brooding, charismatic. For all that I love Yuuhi, I'll be waiting eagerly for Tomu's top star ohirome too.

Three years. In the fourth, if they last that long, they tend to fray around the edges. Or else get frozen in a mold that they can't break.

52 2005年にやったばかりの月組「エリザベート」を2009にも再演しました。実際のところどうですか？
Although Moon Troupe just performed "Elisabeth" in 2005, they revived it again in 2009. What do you really think of that?
It's a completely different show. 2005 was a drama of manners, very private and colourful. 2009 is an austere tragedy. It was a good decision, a trainwreck but a beautiful one.

Please tell us what you think is Shibata Yukihiro's best work.
I haven't seen many, but I can't pick favourites among the nihonmono :)

Some comments on Koike's works.
He's very driven. He drives the actresses through hell, but the end result is art. And he's one of the few who improve a show and take it in new ways each time it's staged *cough*UedaS*cough* I wouldn't fangirl on him, but I respect him, and a show of his usually ranks as a "buy".

Which troupe's version of Elisabeth do you like?
Each one :) The special ones are original Yukigumi for the grace, original Tsukigumi for the subtlety, ShinYuki for the madness and ShinTsuki for the tragedy.
56 宝塚に外部スタッフとして招きたい人がいたら教えてください。実現可能性は問いません。
Is there some staff from outside of Takarazuka that you'd like to work there? It doesn't matter how feasible it is.
I'd love to see Kentaur go crazy with their stage design budget.
57 宝塚で舞台化してほしい原作モノ（小説・映画・歴史上の人物 etc）はありますか？
Is there an original work (novel, movie, historical person) that you'd like to see turned into a Takarazuka performance?
In terms of sheer irreverence I'd love to see them do a musical about angels in the Kabbalah tradition. Jadalbaot vs Gabriel FTW.

If you have a cast in mind, add that too.
Giving it to current Tsukigumi would be fun, with evil!Masaki and Morie as Raziel. Mirio could be Michael, and for the top stars... oh, Kiriyan!Lucifer and Marimo!Gabriel would be immensely fun, working arm in arm with the shadow of the future conflict between them.

We don't know who will be in which trope in five years, so troupe doesn't matter.
Ryuu Masaki, certainly. Nagina Ruumi. Makaze will still be nibante or sanbante... to Yumeno Seika, maybe, if transfers don't happen. Asumi Rio, top star or nibante. Hokushou Kairi. Fingers crossed, Aoki Izumi? No idea about Flower, and I admit that freely.

Not at all (see my liking for androgynous otokoyaku presentation). I love them in dresses looking all glam.

Nope. I love theatre analysis in general.

The revue itself - clueless people ~_~ The fandom does have a larger proportion of non-heterosexual people, but not moreso than slash fandom.

Allow their support of preferred seito to cloud their judgement. I hate seeing people belittle someone just because she got a role they wanted for their preferred seito.

If they stopped promoting people with charisma and talent. If it went into the pop idol direction.

Definitely atypical seito - I don't fall for the handsome-noble-leader type at all. I like them androgynous too, not the 100% male aspect. Singing before dancing, though dancing is important, and emotive acting most of all. And I tend to fall for the ones who look good in skirt roles.

She seems to be transitioning to nihonmono specialist, finally, which suits her. I liked her best before her top star days, but there's still a magnetism to her, and that iron strength of will. You can't look away.

The ability to hold her own, I think - for all that they frame the otokoyaku, a top musumeyaku has to perform with other troupe members as well as the top star, so she has to be strong. That's the only way it really works. Mind you, on the career level hitching your wagon to a good otokoyaku may help.

I think she honestly didn't want to be top star. I never got that spark from her, that drive. She was happy the way she was, and now I think Mizu kicked her out one show early so that she can get a sayonara concert and all the trimmings.

Morie is one of the current seito who touch me the most. For all that Hiromi touches me on a more visceral level, Morie's the one I would probably support if I had the opportunity. I need the Yukariko DVD, because it gives her a star turn. And I was on tenterhooks the day of Scarlet Pimpernel shugobi. Right now I'm hoping for a transfer to give her room to spread her wings in another troupe, maybe. I'd love to see her in Snow as Kimu's nibante.

She has a pure intensity of acting and singing that seizes your attention. She's what I think of as the "pure" otokoyaku (as opposed to quirky), handsome, brooding, charismatic. For all that I love Yuuhi, I'll be waiting eagerly for Tomu's top star ohirome too.

Although Moon Troupe just performed "Elisabeth" in 2005, they revived it again in 2009. What do you really think of that?
It's a completely different show. 2005 was a drama of manners, very private and colourful. 2009 is an austere tragedy. It was a good decision, a trainwreck but a beautiful one.

He's very driven. He drives the actresses through hell, but the end result is art. And he's one of the few who improve a show and take it in new ways each time it's staged *cough*UedaS*cough* I wouldn't fangirl on him, but I respect him, and a show of his usually ranks as a "buy".
