Yukigumi retirements for Solferino

It says something about me that the TakaWiki was the first page I checked this morning. I love many troupes, but I'm a Snow girl in my heart ♥

Yumiko, we knew about already. For the record, I think she's leaving on her terms, whether or not the initial impulse came from the company.

Hamako, on the other hand, hit me hard :( She's definitely put in more than her due, but Naga-san's health already took her out of one show this year, and if Hamako's not there to be kumichou when Naga-san decides that age 60+ is enough high kicks for now, after Mizu's retirement that'll leave... the 84ths Kimu and Yumemi as the eldest people in the troupe O.o Hankyu, you need to work on retaining your distinguished upperclassmen while there are any left!

Nacchan's a bad loss too, but I think we all know the impulse for it. She wanted Snow!Top, she didn't get it, and she probably wants to set up a long-term career while she's still young enough for Japan's extremely competitive scene when it comes to girls of the cute persuasion. Best of luck to her, even though it's another heavy, heavy loss for my troupe, and she's another who'll be getting a letter from me.

JinJin... see upperclassmen, retaining of. And see also, retaining of experienced musumeyaku. Yumemi better not be going anywhere now that she's probably getting the vice-kumichou mantle.

(I've also acquired a Dreamwidth account just for Takarazuka that I'll set up shortly. Then I will be able to babble more without annoying the non-Zuka crowd ;))

The rumour mill did band it about for several months :S I want to think she just didn't want top for some reason.

I guess I just didn't expect it because everyone's sort of expecting Mizu to retire (because of the box set release), and I was all "aw, but at least Yumiko!" and now... yeah. I don't know what her reasons are, but I'm sure she's finishing on as high a note as she deserves and she'll go on to great things.

I can't remember who mentioned it, but I'm very fond of the idea of Yumiko becoming a photographer :) Whatever she wants to do, I'm sure she'll be brilliant at it.

You and me both! I was surprised to see hamakonand and sayu but ah well. Poor mizu is going to be feeling positively old if this keeps up! I wish all three the best!

I fear Mizu's not only going to feel old, she will be - after Solferino, there will be Naga-san, Mizu, and the next oldest will be five ken younger than Mizu O.o I was actually wondering about Naga-san, since she must be pushing actual real-world retirement age, but with Hamako leaving I hope she'll hang around a while more just to let Yumemi get some kumichou experience.

Yeah I noticed the age difference between Mizu and Kimu as well. (actually its even worse then we think it is since Mizu is, in reality, about 7- 8 years older then Kimu)

That's why I said five ken ;) Mizu only got into TMS on her last try, didn't she? I think that of my favourite top stars, only Ichiro passed the exams on her first attempt.

I think so. I recall reading somewhere that she had to go work on her dancing (I want to say she hadn't really learned any prior to the test). Ah well, she still makes me squee like a fangirl at whatever age she is! Even if I never believe that Hero!Mizu is ever really at the mercy of Villain!Kimu ^.^
