All right, so I can see why she is retiring. Seriously, the woman is skin and bones and overworked. Still... will there eer be another one like her?

I'm not surprised about the announcement, just the timing of it. I'd sort of figured she'd wait till Yumiko and the others had retired before making her official announcement.

It's the schedule, I think - Yukigumi is doing two Daigekijou shows back to back, and I've never heard of a top star's retirement being announced later than at the mid-point of the previous show. Announcing now is stealing the taidansha thunder less than it would have been, were she to annouce it between Mura and Tokyo runs of Solferino.

The bizarre thing is that both the top and nibante positions will need to be filled in a short space of time.

Unless Otozuki Kei becomes the next top and Sagiri Seina her nibante, you would think there has to be a transfer in from somewhere...

(For the record, Kimu as top seems a definite possibility. Not sure about Chigi as nibante, but you never know)

Is Chigi experienced enough for nibante, though? She's only been yonbante for all of one and a half show (though that'll be three and a half by the time Mizu retires), and back in Cosmos IIRC she wasn't ranking that high.

I have to admit that my favourite option would be to bring in an 85th (especially a certain 85th ;)) as nibante. But I'm biased there...

Honestly? I don't really think so, but given that Masaki (who is her classmate) is getting Chauvelin, it's not out of the realm of possibility.

I'll admit I'm wondering if Micchan would be transferred in as Kimu's nibante. I really, really like her in sora and would hate to see her leave, but she and Kimu could make a very cute top/nibante combi.

The thing is, we have two troupes in need of nibante - Moon (all in all, if Masaki were it, she'd get solo Chauvelin) and Snow. Could be room enough for everyone ;)
